Literacy Reflection W9 T2

This week for word work we looked at strong words that we are going to use in our speech. We looked at the most important topic words. 

This week we are preparing for our speeches that we are going to present next term. 

For reading Miss Reissmann gave us a short story called 'Mrs Wilding's Potatoes'. When we had finished reading the story, she shared a slide with us where we had to write at least one main point each.

Meaning:

Entertainment or something that a person plays

Sentence:

Meaning:

A rugby competition where teams from around the world play each other in different places

Sentence:

Five rugby teams are all in the Super Rugby competition.

Meaning:

Not well

Sentence:

My sister was very sick so she couldn’t come to the Hurricanes, Crusaders game.

Tickets

Meaning:

A piece of paper or card that admits you to go somewhere or to watch something

Sentence:

You have you buy tickets to go to a performance or a sports game.

Crusaders

Meaning:

A Super Rugby team that comes from Christchurch

Sentence:

The Crusaders are a Super Rugby team from Christchurch.

Hurricanes

Meaning:

A Super Rugby team that comes from Wellington

Sentence:

The Hurricanes are a Super Rugby with lots of good players in it like Beauden & Jordie Barrett.

Literacy Reflection

This week for word work I only did meanings and origins because I was away on Tuesday and also it was a bit of a messy week. 

We have also started a new writing topic where we had to search up 'wonderopopolis' and find a wonder that we wanted to write about. My topic is 'Why do superheroes have secret identities?' We had to search up two websites to find some information about our topic and also do a coggle. Here is my coggle. 

Literacy Reflection Week 5 Term 1

This week for reading and writing we had to choose a topic that we had to read books and online articles about. I chose to do 'Wakeboarding'. We record notes from what we read. We also had to do a Coggle write down some of the ideas as well. 

For word work we have a different activity to complete every day of the week. Here are the activities that I did. 

Word Work Reflection W1 T4

For Word Work we got to choose an activity card and do that activity with that weeks spelling words. I chose Spelling Code. I had to create a code for each of the letters in the alphabet, then write out my spelling words and put the code next to it. Here are my DLOs.  

Week 9 Reflection

Numeracy

This week we have started an activity called Top Dog Pooch. We have to work in small groups to work out how much it costs to have an animal. In our groups we got to choose what animal we wanted ours is a Russian Tortoise. Here is the Google drawing of how much it costs to get the tortoises toys and bed.
