On Wednesday, Andrew (a man who teaches people things to do with electronics) came to teach us some of the things about circuits and measuring data. My favourite part was when we were measuring data. Watch my video to find out some more about what we did. Here is a link to my screencastify about what we did. Do you know how to measure data?
This week we have been going over what read to self means. We can read to self without getting distracted for about 12 minutes. We have learnt to write lists. We got to choose what list we wanted to write about from a selection of about 10. I chose '10 things I would like to do before I get old.' For the class chapter book we have been reading 'Holes' by Louis Sachar. We did a setting comparison about the book. One the first drawing space we had to write what Stanley thought Camp Greenlake was going to look like and on the other drawing space was what Camp Greenlake was like.
This week we did statistics. We had to get into buddies and my buddy was Riley W. First we had to choose a question. Our question was 'What is Mamaku's favourite NZ sport team?' I really liked doing this activity. Here is my work:
Welcome to 2017! Today we had to get into buddies and teach our buddy the 'Typing Test'. My buddy was Allie. The Year 5's are getting their Chromebooks on Tuesday. The one thing that my buddy is looking forward to is being able to do most of her work on the Chromebook. This week we have started Mamaku ferns all about us. We are putting our names, things that are important to us and things we like doing on it. On Tuesday we did Te Reo with Miss Panther. We were learning about our Mihi and what we include in it. We only got time to learn about half of it. Next week we are going to do the rest of it.
