Technology - Cooking

On Wednesday at Technology we made Weet-Bix Slice. It was quite funny that we made that as I had made it in the weekend. I worked with Aimee and I found this very very fun.  Our teacher is Mrs Waugh.
She then set us a task........the school has been given a lot of Weet-Bix so we had to loo up on the computers something that we want to make next week but it has to include Weet-Bix.

Aimee and I went onto the Weet-Bix website to find some recipes. We then agreed on making a banana mango smoothie and since it only took 5mins to make we then agreed to also make these vegetable balls.

Here is the recipe to the Weet-Bix Slice if you would like to make it at home.

Ingredients
    150g butter, melted
    4 Weetbix (crushed)
    1/2 cup White Sugar
    1 cup flour
    1 Tbsp cocoa powder
    1 tsp baking powder
    1 drop vanilla essence

    Icing
    1 1/2 cups Icing Sugar
    1/2 cup dessicated coconut
    1 tsp cocoa powder
    25g butter
    Hot water to mix
Method
Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl and make a well in the middle. Add the melted butter and vanilla essence. Mix together, then press into a slice tin.
Bake at 180°C for 10 mins only. Ice while hot/warm and cut into squares.

    Icing
Put first three ingredients into a bowl, add the butter. Slowly add enough hot water to melt butter, until it's a smooth, spreadable icing.

Spread over slice while hot then cut into squares once cooled a little.

  1. Hi Reagan

Great to see you also posting about Technology, it was funny that you had already made these on the weekend. Which ones tasted better?
I can just imagine you and Aimee working together, there would have been lots of baking and giggling too!
I haven't been baking much lately but looking at these recipes makes me feel like doing it this weekend, then there will be lots of yummy treats for morning tea.
You have given a great explanation/detail about what you have up to at Technology on this post and I love your enthusiasm for blogging and commenting... Keep up the great work Reagan.
