(W3) DAY 4 (A1) - The Southern Lights

For this activity we had to write an acrostic poem about the Southern Lights.

  1. Hi Reagan

This is a really great poem that you have written. You really have captured all about the Southern Lights. It really would be spectacular to see them>
I know that they have been seen before from Point Elizabeth as I have seen a photo of this. But I think one of the best places in New Zealand to see them from is Queenstown. My niece lives in Queenstown and see it quite a lot. She even named her daughter Aurora.
My favourite line of your poem is Spectacular sights, everybody speechless. I think you would be speechless about it if you were lucky enough to see it.

Don't think we will be seeing much of anything today with the amount of low grey cloud outside. Definitely an inside day today!

    Great work Reagan

    Until next time

I like to vocabulary you have chosen to use in your poem. I also think the presentation of this task is very thoughtful and eye-catching with the backgrounds of the words looking like the Southern Lights. Great idea! I have also never seen these lights before and would love to get the opportunity to see them one day. I have just finished reading a book about the characters taking a boat ride in Norway to go and see the Northern Lights! What a coincidence! Maybe extending some of the lines with a bit more detail could improve the poem.
