I agree with you, the clothes from the 40's look really hot, tight and itchy. I don't think that I would like to wear these everyday. The thought of having to wear gloves even on a really hot day doesn't do much for me.
The fashion of today is so much more casual than back then. It is fun to dress up sometimes if you have somewhere special to go like a wedding. But it is far more comfortable to just wear casual clothes.
As for in the future I think it will be a bit more futuristic by then. Maybe we might be wearing shiny silver jumpsuits that keep us warm on a cold day and cool on a hot day. I think you will look funny in one of these !!
