(W2) DAY (A2) - The Black Drain

For this activity we got to choose 2 polluted rivers in NZ to research. We had to find out: the name of the rivers, where the rivers are and if there is anything being done to help clean up the rivers.

  1. Hi Reagan

Great work with the research for this activity. You just don't realise how many rivers there are in New Zealand that are polluted. It is a real shame considering we are supposed to be this clean green country and here we are with lots of pollution in the rivers.
On the West Coast I think the the Grey River is high up there along with the Ngakawau river. I knew about the Grey River but I had no idea about the Ngakawau river. But they do have a coal mine right beside it!

I hope that you have enjoyed doing he research for all of these activities and are learning lots along the way.
You are doing a fantastic job and always presenting your work to a high standard.

    Great work once again Reagan

    Until next time

    Allie :)

For this activity I typed up polluted rivers in NZ and there was HEAPS that I found that I didn't know about.
I have loved all of the research involved in the SLJ as you get to learn a LOT!
I also think the idea of attributing photos is a great idea as it is giving some credit to the photographer!
I think it is wonderful how some people are helping to clean up the rivers running along or through there home towns!

      Noho ora mai
