(W4) DAY 3 (A2) - Protecting the Most Vulnerable (Fact Or Fiction?)

For this activity we had to write down 3 facts we learned about Maui Dolphins. Then, we had to use our imagination to create 3 more statements about the dolphins that aren't true. But.....we weren't allowed to say which ones where true and what ones were false. Which ones do YOU think are true and which ones are false?

  1. Hi Reagan

Great work with you facts about the Maui dolphin. Good to see that your facts that are not true are not too far out that it makes it too easy to work out. 1,2,5 are the untrue facts! It would be really good for the species if they had 15 calves each but considering they don't start until they are 7-9 years old and only live until that are about 20.
Dolphins are such fun creatures and it always really thrilling when you are out on a boat and they swim and play along side the boat.

We usually get to see them off the shore at Punakaiki in the summer. They come in quite close and play in the water. I have on some summer nights seen them playing down at the tip head also.
Do you see them in Le Bons Bay? I know there are lots at Akaroa so I presume they would be further north too.

Great work Reagan, lets hope that this species of dolphin is able to survive. Wouldn't that be great !

    Until next time

    Allie :)
