This week we had to write a diary entry for The Mines' Afire explaining about the explosion and the funeral. We had to write in the perspective of a brother/sister or Mum/Dad or son/daughters who's relative died in the explosion.
Bula Wow, Rea! I can't believe how you can now hook the reader in with your detailed writing. half a cup of cream - boy, you're not on a diet!!! I like how you have presented on what looks like really old faded paper. I enjoyed watching the video of you reading your diary entry. You use such wonderful expression when you read. You are a joy to listen to.
I look forward to reading your next piece of writing! Love Mum
Thanks for the comment. I really enjoyed doing this piece of writing as you should show heaps of different emotion. I decided to add the brown paper to the background to make it look like an old journal back in those days - just like Tommy's in our class novel!
Hey Reagan! Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful writing with us. I really like the way you use detail to make the reader feel like they are there. Are you enjoying the book? I can't believe how many children were left without a father. I don't think I would cope if I lived in those days! Are you looking forward to the Mine Site trip? I know I am as I love to go outside of the classroom to learn new things. Keep up the great work! Miss H
