Pukeko Facts - The Mines' Afire

In the passage that Miss Hines read to us yesterday, Tommy went on a walk in the bush with his class. In the bush he found 4 different types of birds - pukeko, tui, wood pigeon and weka. We had to choose one of these birds to research and create a presentation about it. I chose to do the pukeko.

WOW. I really like the way you have set out your information and your drawing! It looks great! Did you know that I used to like Pukeko's until one day I looked out my window and a Pukeko had a baby ducking in it's mouth and it ran away with it and ate it :-(
    I don't like them anymore!!
Keep up the great work, stay cool.

I like how you have tied in the colours of the pukeko with the title and information boxes. What does a bird need to do to win the Forest and Bird competition? A running race, best looking?? We see lots of pukeko on the way into town, usually running flat out to get out of our way, don't we? I do like the striking colours of its plummage (fancy word!). However, out of the four birds that Tommy saw, I would have to say that I like the look of the wood pigeon the best!

Looking forward to you telling me more about this novel

Woah, your presentation on the pukeko is amazing. I like how you have add lots of colour and pictures. Why did you choose to research about the pukeko? Aren't we lucky to have a bird like the pukeko in our country! You have got some really cool facts about the pukeko.

Keep up the great work Reagan!

I Really like how you have set up your Google drawing and made the Text Box and the Title the same colour as the Pukeko and the Flags. You have put so much effort into this post which makes it amazing.
